Distance Learning to Start April 6, 2020

We want to share that we have checked with the Minnesota Department of Education and have been informed that we cannot launch distance learning next week. Although the staff at UMA worked diligently to plan & prepare, the specific legislation states that we must wait until after March 27th to begin. Since our Spring Break begins the week after the closure ends, UMA students will not start distance learning until April 6th. Please be aware, many teachers have been testing various systems and have been in contact with students via email and Schoology about missing assignments for quarter 3 and will likely continue to do so in the days ahead. Students should email teachers questions if they have them. Please reach out to us if you have issues around technology or other needs.

Thank you to all of our staff for their diligent planning and thank you to all of our families for their support and well wishes. We appreciate the strength and flexibility of our extended community.

Sincerely,
Amy Elverum  & Arslan Aziz
