UMA Welcomes Harry Adler, New Executive DirectorDenise Goldman
From the UMA Board of Directors:
Harry Adler brings over 30 years of experience in education and business management to Upper Mississippi Academy. Mr. Adler served as the Upper School Director for the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School for four years, after 11 years of leadership and math and science teaching roles at the Twin Cities Jewish Middle School. Recently he has engaged in afterschool high school programming, as well as the rebranding and reprogramming of a private elementary school.
Prior to earning his education licensure at University of St. Thomas, Harry held financial management and systems engineering roles at FMC. He holds undergraduate and advanced degrees from the University of Virginia.
Harry loves the belief statements of UMA. He is a strong advocate of interdisciplinary projects, experiential learning, and recognizing the uniqueness of each student. Among other unique programming at UMA, Harry is looking forward to experiencing the culinary talent of UMA students given his many years of cooking with students (as well as his love for food!).
Harry lives with his wife and two dogs in Minneapolis. He enjoys walking, travelling, cooking, reading, genealogy and learning about the “hot trends” from his adult-aged son and daughter. He is looking forward to joining and learning with the UMA community.
Mr. Adler will begin at UMA Today, Monday January 4, 2016.
