Tuesday, March 12
Juniors will be taking the ACT this Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. This is a rescheduled date due to an earlier snow day. All 11th graders who are taking the test should report directly to the gym. Students will be finished with the test before lunch and are expected to attend regularly scheduled afternoon classes. Wednesday, March 13
Sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT this Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. All sophomores are expected to take the test (at no charge to the student). Students will be finished with the test in the middle of their second block and are expected to attend regularly scheduled classes after the test. Thursday, March 14
The UMA student government is hosting a high school dance — Spring Fling — this Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. There will be snacks, music, a photo booth, and lots of dancing. If tickets are bought in advance, two free slices of delicious pizza will be included with ticket purchase; additional slices, snacks, and drinks will be offered at a low price.
If students are interested in bringing a friend from another school a form must be completed by the student’s attending school and brought with them to the dance. The form is linked below. Tickets cost $8 in advance (available at high school lunch in the cafeteria) or $10 at the door (no pizza, though).
Friday, March 15
This Friday is a student release day. Students will not have school, but UMA staff will be in the building for professional development, curriculum planning, and collaboration time.
Saturday, March 16
There will be a middle school information session this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. If you would like to sign up, please use the Information Session RSVP form.
