Beginning of the Year Updates

Greetings from UMA,

We are excited and hope that everyone has had a good start to the 2022-2023 school year. We are planning to send out our newly formatted newsletter next week. For today – here are some quick updates:

  • Parents & Guardians can now use the My Stop App to view their student’s bus information. My Stop will display a relatively current location of the student’s bus if the GPS is transmitting, and it will provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA) at the bottom of the screen. Please know the app is likely delayed and is usually about 2-3 minutes behind where the bus actually is. Students should still arrive at their bus stop 5 minutes before their scheduled pick-up time. Directions on how to use the My Stop App can be found here.
  • Bus information will continue to be updated, we recommend that you check the My Stop App frequently to view the most up to date information for your students. Requests for bus stop changes can be sent to [email protected], changes can not be guaranteed.
  • Next week will be our first Community Day Friday – September 16, 2022!
Details on the plans for the day will be shared by Advisory teachers. Contact your student’s Advisory teacher if there are any questions.
  • Our COVID count remains low and we appreciate everyone who is caring for the community by being mindful, understanding risks, washing hands, respectful masking, being vaccinated, and providing space for others when needed. This week, three UMA students missed school due to positive covid test results. Students and staff who are not feeling well should remain home to rest and return when feeling better.
  • Clubs are starting to be organized and to meet. Students can get club information from the weekly announcements – check with the Advisory Teachers for details.
  • Water bottles are really helpful – Thank you!
