Karina Lozano

Building Substitute Teacher

Karina grew up in Bloomington, MN. She went to college at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and received her Bachelors of Science in secondary English education. While in Florida, Karina interned and assisted in the development and implementation of a writing program for at-risk students at Whiddon-Rogers High School. She completed her student teaching at Rosemount High School teaching Language Arts and creative writing. She is very excited to be the building substitute at Upper Mississippi Academy and loves being able to connect with all of the students and staff.

In her free time, Karina enjoys reading, watching sci-fi and comedy tv shows, painting, and going to the movies. She has a seven year old rescue dog named Luna who loves to run at the dog park. Karina has a very large extended family and loves visiting them throughout the United States.
